If you love to learn new crochet stitches, then you’re in the right place. The crochet crunch stitch has a dense and closely knitted texture but is very easy to make.
With only one row repeat, the crochet crunch stitch works up faster and easily because you do not have multiple row repeats to master.

Shall we start.
Materials.
- Worsted weight / category 4 yarn.
- 5.0 mm crochet hook.
- Yarn needle {if you want to weave in the ends after finishing your piece}
Stitches Used & Abbreviations
Ch = chain.
Slst = slip stitch
Hdc = half double crochet
Notes.
- Foundation chain should be an odd number.
- Every row starts with a slst and ends with a hdc.
- Turn your work after every row.
- The slip stitches tend to stiff if your stitches are tight. Try making loose stitches.
- The pattern is written in US terms.
Crunch Stitch Pattern.
Chain an Even number of chains. I started with 24 for this pattern.
Row 1.
Skip the first chain from hook,
Step 1,
Working only in the back bumps, slip stitch {slst} in the nxt ch,
Step 2,
Half double crochet {hdc} next ch
Repeat step 1&step 2 to the end of row, ending with a hdc stitch.
Row 2.
ch1, {this does not count as a stitch}, slst in the first st, working through both loops.
Hdc nxt st,
*slst nxt st, hdc nxt st, repeat pattern from * to the end of row, ending with a hdc st.
Repeat row 2 pattern until you reach a desired number of rows.
