This free crochet ruana pattern is just in time before the holiday season. Crochet Ruanas are versatile garments that can be worn in any weather. Depending on the yarn used, they can either be lightweight for a beautiful summer throw or warm and heavy for the cooler temperatures.
If you love the cooler weather like me, you definitely would love this crochet ruana. The Sosa ruana offers a warm layer without necessarily having to wear a sweater. It comes in very handy when you want to keep warm but also keep the sweater at bay. It drapes perfectly and can be customized to fit any size.

NOTES.
- The Ruana is made in one piece, from back bottom to back shoulders, where it divides to two front panels and ends on front bottom.
- The pattern uses 3 yarn colors abbreviated as C1 for first color, C2 for second color and C3 for third color. The three yarns are carried as floats when working to avoid weaving lots of ends. These floats are almost invisible and they are further hid by working an edge all around.
- The pattern is available in 4 sizes but you can always alter it to fit specific size by getting the right gauge.
- Repeat instructions between asterisk (**) as stated in the following statement.
Number at the end of every row is sc stitch count. Refer to size for specific count. The sizing guide follows size child’s(tween/s, m/l, xl/2xl). E.g. “Ch 107(143,159,175) means Ch 107 for child’s, Ch 143 for tween/women’s small, Ch 159 for Medium/large, Ch 175 for xl/2xl.”
