Being a stand alone stitch pattern, you can use the crochet bobble stitch to make hats, bags, blankets and sweaters. Check out the bobble sleeve cardigan as a sample project.
Depending on the type of fabric you want for your finished project, you can opt for the layered bobble stitch pattern, or the offset bobbles. In this pattern we shall learn the layered bobbles. These are bobbles placed on top of previous row bobbles.
The bobble stitch is abbreviated as bo and other patterns shows it as dc5tog. It is made in clusters of double crochet. These can be clusters of 3, 4, 5, 6 double crochets. Ithers can add more depending on preferences. Double crochet is not however the only stitch used to create the bubble. In other patterns, you might come across half double crochet or treble crochet clusters.
