
If you love a more textured crochet stitch, this mini basketweave stitch might just be the best for you. It is closely similar to the basketweave stitch, but more beginner friendly, with few only 4 rows repeat.

Materials Needed
Yarn : You can use any yarn you have around.
Hook: Use the hook recommended on your yarn label.
Darning needle
Pair of Scissors.
Stitches & Abbreviations
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
fpdc = front post double crochet
bpdc = back post double crochet
Notes.
- chain 3 at the beginning of a new row counts as a stitch.
- the pattern uses US terminology.
- This is a four row repeat. Just repeat rows 2 to 5 as long as you want your project.
Mini basketweave stitch pattern
Start by making a slip knot, then chain any multiple of four stitches (e.g. 4,8,12,16,20,24…..) then add 2 chains.
This pattern uses 26 chains (4 x 6 =24 + 2 = 26 sts)
Row 1.

skip 3 chains, double crochet in the next chain and each chain to end of row. Turn

Row 2.
chain 3, yarn over and insert hook around the next stitch, from back to front then to back

then yarn over and pull through(you should have 3 loops on hook) yarn over and pull through the first 2 loops, then yarn over and pull through the last 2 loops. {this is a back post double crochet}

back post double crochet in the next stitch.

yarn over, and insert hook in the post of the next stitch from front, to back and then to front. the post of the stitch should be in front of your hook,

then yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through the first 2 loops, then yarn over and pull through the last 2 loops. {first front post double crochet}

front post double crochet in the next stitch,

*back post double crochet in the next 2 stitches, front post double crochet in the next 2 stitches*
Repeat pattern in *-* until 3 stitches remain, back post double crochet in the next 2 stitches,
double crochet in the last stitch. (this is the chain 3 skipped on row 1: locate the 3rd chain)

Row 3.
chain 3, *front post double crochet in the next 2 stitches, back post in the next 2 stitches,

Repeat pattern from * until only 3 stitches remain,
front post double crochet in the next 2 stitches,
double crochet in the very last stitch.

Row 4
Repeat row 3 pattern.
Row 5,
Repeat row 2 Pattern.
Continue with your work, repeating rows 2 to row 5 until you achieve desired size.
