The treble crochet stitch, also abbreviated as tr of trc, is a not commonly used and is mostly used together with other stitches. I personally do not use it so often but I’ll admit that it looks great in a well designed pattern.
To make this stitch, you will need to start by chaining any number of chains.
Row 1.
Skip the first 4 chains (first treble st),*yarn over twice, Insert hook in the next chain, Yarn over and pull through the chain (you’ll have 4 loops on the hook). Yarn over and pull through the first 2 loops, Yarn over and pull through the next 2 loops, Yarn over and pull through the last 2 loops.*
Repeat pattern within the asterisk * to the end of the row. Turn.
Row 2.
- Step 1
Chain 4(this count as the first treble stitch),
yarn over twice, insert hook in the first stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops, yarn over and draw through the next 2 loops, yarn over and draw through the remaining 2 loops.
- Step 2
Yarn over twice, Insert hook in the next stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through two loops, yarn over and draw through the next 2 loops, yarn over and draw through the remaining two loops.
- Step 3.
Repeat step 2 to the end of row. Remember the chain 4 at the beginning of row counts as a stitch, So work the last stitch in it.
Repeat row 2 pattern until you master the stitch.
