The double crochet stitch works very fast and is super easy to learn. Its is taller than both the single crochet and half double crochet but shorter than the treble crochet . This stitch comes second to the half double crochet in my basic stitches favorite list.
This pattern is written in US terminology and the same stitch is referred to as the treble stitch in UK terminology.

You will need.
- H/5.0 mm crochet hook
- Worsted weight yarn.
Also abbreviated as dc, the double crochet stitch seems to Be the most popular stitch. Most patterns use this stitch and beginners love it so much. I can’t tell why but I think it’s because it works faster than the single crochet and a half double crochet.
Double Crochet Stitch Pattern.
To make this stitch, you will need to start by chaining any number of chains.
Row 1.
Skip the first 2 chains (these will not count as a stitch),*yarn over, Insert hook in the next chain, Yarn over and pull through the chain (you’ll have 3 loops on the hook). Yarn over and pull through the first 2 loops, Yarn over and pull through the last 2 loops.*
Repeat pattern within the asterisk * to the end of the row. Turn.
Row 2.
- Step 1
Chain 2(this does not count as a stitch),yarn over, insert hook in the first stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through two loops, yarn over and draw through the remaining two loops.
- Step 2
Yarn over, Insert hook in the next stitch,yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through two loops, yarn over and draw through the remaining two loops.
- Step 3.
Repeat step 2 to the end of row. Remember the chain 2 at the beginning of row does not count as a stitch. So do not work in it.
Repeat row 2 pattern until you master the stitch.
